I got a guitar for Christmas. Yay! One of the first things I did was start to teach myself Tool songs. I decided to play the intro to Lateralus until I could get a recording of it I was not embarassed of. It's not perfect, but I don't make any major botches so I think it's a good start for only having the damn thing for a little over a week.
